Before the state budget was finalized in June 2019, we gathered thousands of parents, children, and youth – along with our partners and leaders from communities across California – for the End Child Poverty Bus Tour to demand action on our child poverty crisis. Read more.
End Child Poverty Plan Rally and Press Conference
End Child Poverty CA, a project of GRACE, partnered with anti-poverty organizations to lead a rally at the Capitol to urge action on the newly unveiled End Child Poverty Plan. The plan was released by the state’s Lifting Children and Families Out of Poverty Task Force created by AB 1520 (Burke). Read more.
Rally to End Child Poverty
Civil rights leader Rep. John Lewis joined Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Representatives Karen Bass and Barbara Lee, State Senator Holly Mitchell, Assemblymember Autumn Burke, and other California leaders to demand that California address its child poverty crisis. California’s Crisis: Ending Child Poverty
“California’s Crisis: Ending Child Poverty,” a conference co-convened by GRACE and The California Endowment, took place on December 16, 2013. With over 250 attendees and many more watching the live stream, the conference was an important step in the process of identifying, gaining consensus and then implementing measures to reduce child poverty in California.
